Stefanie Smith. B.A (Hons) PGCE

You will find me in the woods, listening for birds and looking for the tiny details that each season has to offer, often with a sketchbook in hand.

Born in London and raised in Hertfordshire, I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2000 with a degree in Applied & Media Art and the following year trained to be an Art and Design teacher, specialising in printmaking, with English as my second subject.

Now settled in Surrey, my work, inspired by the beautiful landscape of Windsor Great Park and Runnymede & Ankerwycke National Trust, often starts in my sketchbook as I document each seasonal treasure but finishes in various printmaking techniques – particularly mezzotint.

Having previously enjoyed teaching art and printmaking sessions at The Environmental Centre, Windsor Great Park, on behalf of Berks, Berks & Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust, I currently enjoy teaching as a freelance art teacher from my studio, locally and nationally.

In March 2024- myself, Sarah Bowe and Susanne Fasakin opened the Egham Artisan shop, on Egham High Street. We currently have a growing collective of wonderful artists and makers with us, and offer a variety of art and craft workshops. As a Community Interest Company, it is our intention to continue to build this vibrant community and offer affordable arts education to all.
