Stefanie Smith. B.A (Hons) PGCE
Inspired by nature and a severe case of wanderlust, i am an avid collector of moments, often found taking far too many photographs and using them as inspiration for my artwork.
I originally trained as an Art teacher over 20 years ago and I blame this for my love of nearly every medium and technique that I come into contact with. This love means that I often find it incredibly difficult to stick to just one....something that I am learning to embrace.
My current work is inspired by my seasonal surroundings and natures treasures, found on walks near my Surrey home, with my Chocolate Labrador, Flo. I am thoroughly enjoying exploring the printmaking processes: etchings, mezzotints and linocut, as well as drawing and painting.
My love of the seasons and my local surroundings has given me some wonderful opportunities over the past couple of years and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the National Trust, running community art classes for children and adults and illustrating their Autumn Fungi nature trail.
